I must admit I am a little skeptical about the #EarlyBuzz surrounding Season 3 of Discovery.

What happened to their uniforms?

It feels like they are trying their own version of the fan production Renegades.

They crash the ship? Don't do Discovery without Discovery. Please.

Discovery is the great expirement.

They tried something drastically different. It's the Excelsior of the franchise if you get my meaning.

Side note, can I get a USS Excelsior NCC-2000-D on Lower Decks?

I'm gonna discuss some rumors I've heard lately. Let's start with the first rumor I heard:

James T. Kirk

He's got a pretty full back story already. There's always a little wiggle room with that but we'll see. I'm on board to have Lt James T. Kirk on board.

Other related rumor, they are planning on twisting his sexuality. Terrible idea. Some things are firm cannon.

Next rumor I've heard, they also want to recast and bring in the rest of the TOS crew as well.

Too soon I think. Save that for later seasons.

I'm hoping this one is false, at least until season 3 or later.

Let us discuss Strange New Worlds for a moment shall we? This is the show I'm spending my $99/yr to support. It's a crowd funded project. Discovery's production was 100% funded my the great geeks that control Netflix. They paid for it just to have the international streaming rights. This show is not as lucky to be corporately funded, but God bless every Trekker that subscribed for Discovery & Picard. It was enough to justify a fan service series we all want.

Next point, I believe they should have a flashback with Captain Robert April, and it's played by Rod Roddenberry. Much reference material had Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's picture as Captain Robert April.

Why not? I think it would be fitting.
This series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is the direct continuation from Gene Roddenberry's original pilot for Star Trek.

There has been a viral campaign to get frequent Trek guest actor Jeffrey Combs to play the doctor.

Time will tell.

Release date: Early 2022.

Give us a title card at least. It's a property you own, you have no reason not to early advertise on the very platform at least! It costs you nothing, other than $17/hr for some production assistant (or tier 1 NOC, whichever it might be there) to add a title card to the platform. Make it searchable, get the branding out to the blogosphere, so that when the trailers drop, the #EarlyBuzz is already there.
